What is the Bible Code? When Was it Uncovered?

Ancient Jewish tradition states that God dictated the Torah (the first 5 books of the Old Testament) to Moses, in a precise letter by letter sequence (and that there were no breaks for words or vowels placed therein). Moses was told that these letters must never be changed and for over 3000 years, the exact letters have been transcribed. It is also stated that encrypted in the Hebrew text of these five books are names of people and specific events. In 1994, three Israeli mathematicians (Rips, Witztum and Rosenberg), gave mathematical and statistical evidence that information about personalities, events and dates can be found encoded in the Hebrew Scriptures. It was through the creation of a computer program that this code was fully uncovered. The bible spoke about a secret book that would be discovered in the future. And in fact, this secret book was contained within itself and could not be read until the advent of the modern day computer.

How Does the Code Work?

First, all the letters in the Torah, the first five books of the bible are joined together, over 300,000 hebrew letters. Then using the computer, specific words are searched for using the ELS sytem. ELS represents Equidistant Letter Sequence which means that words are searched for by skipping "X" number of letters to find the word. For example, in the book of Genesis if you start with the first hebrew letter and skip approximately 70 letters, you will eventually spell the world Torah in a forward sequance . There are many computer programs available that one can use today to work with this code and search for personal information as well. Using this code information has been discovered about various historical incidences such as: The Death of Princess Diana, the sinking of the Titanic, Elections of U.S. Presidents, etc ...

Can the Code Be Verified Mathematically?
